UNICEF’s Campaign Against AIDS
HIV/AIDS is one of the most devastating illnesses of our world today. It has overcome whole communities and left many children vulnerable and without parents. More than 10 million children have been orphaned by AIDS and the impact doesn’t stop there. Without help, these children are susceptible to so much more, from illness to abused lives at the hands of those who exploit their vulnerability. These children must work to earn income and produce food. They must also care for sick family members. In many places, children are struggling to survive on their own in child-headed households, while others are forced to live on the streets.
